KAYB is committed to continuing the training of our players through our youth umpire program. Training is offered beginning at age 13 with youth umpires calling one-man games in Minors/10U. As they get older our umpires move up to two-man crews, with young teens calling games in Majors/12U-14U.

Umpire in Chief, Glen Stewart, is a master at his craft, bringing unparalleled knowledge and experience to Babe Ruth League Baseball. With a passion for the game and a commitment to excellence, Glen ensures that every umpire under his guidance is well-prepared and confident on the field. He schedules 2-3 umpire clinics each month starting in October, focusing on skill development, rule interpretation, and game management, setting the stage for a successful season ahead.

As a KAYB umpire, you are classified as a W4 employee and earn $45.00 per game. On average, umpires can expect to be scheduled for 2-3 games per week, providing a flexible opportunity to fit your schedule. For those looking to further their involvement, there’s an option to extend your work during the postseason, allowing you to gain valuable experience and earn additional income.

Each summer, KAYB proudly hosts two home tournaments, with the potential for state or regional events, creating exciting opportunities for umpires to showcase their skills.
